Life by the Fjord

Hindrum Fjordsenter is a small, family-run place on the Fosen peninsula, right by the Trondheim Fjord – about an hour from Trondheim. We live and work here, and welcome guests who come for sea fishing, boat rental, holiday-house stays, quiet days by the water, or simply time together in peaceful surroundings. Some come for business, others for holiday. There's room for both here.

Life by the fjord follows a slower rhythm. The fjord is close at hand, the horizon open, and nature a natural part of the stay. You can take one of our boats out, walk the local trails, climb Munkstigen Via Ferrata, or simply sit by the water and let the day unfold at its own pace. A stay here is simple and grounded – with weather, light, salt air, and room to breathe.

We spent two weeks in one of the new cabins, with a great standard and fantastic views over the fjord. The fishing here was really good, and this place can absolutely be recommended.

It's also possible to fish freshwater at an idyllic lake up in the mountains. We tried this and caught some nice trout.

The team at Hindrum Fjordsenter were very helpful and friendly throughout our stay. The boats were new and safe to use in most weather conditions. For us, Hindrum Fjordsenter is an excellent base for a fishing holiday in Mid-Norway. Thanks for having us – we'd love to come back.

I don't fish myself, so I can't say much about the fishing. Still, I want to mention that Hindrum is one of my favourite places so far.

Bed linen and towels are included in all houses.

Before departure, please:

Remove the bed linen and leave it in the living room
Dispose of waste in the large containers in the shed by the road
Leave the keys in the red mailbox by the noticeboard if reception is closed

Reception: 9:00 AM–6:00 PM every day

Fuel sales and on-site services are available during reception opening hours.

Outside opening hours, we're reachable by phone for urgent matters, such as access to a house or boat.

After booking, an invoice for the advance payment is normally sent, with a 14-day payment deadline. The remaining balance is normally invoiced 2–3 months before arrival.

Fuel, boat deposit and add-on services are paid on-site by card.
