Essential information before you head out on the Trondheim Fjord

Here you’ll find all the important information about boat rental at Hindrum Fjordsenter. Please read this guide carefully before you take the boat out – it helps ensure a safe and memorable experience on the Trondheimfjord. Back to the welcome guide.

Life jacket and sea chart

  • A life jacket and sea chart with GPS coordinates and marked fishing spots are provided with the rental.
  • Remember your mobile phone and save our number – you’ll also find it on the sea chart.
  • Take a photo of the propeller before departure for documentation.

Fuel

  • Contact the reception when you need fuel (98 octane only).
  • We prefer that fuel is purchased between 09:00–17:00.
  • Remember to write your name and house number on the list hanging in the fuel room.
  • Payment is made before departure, together with the catch documentation.

Boat rental – return & inspection

  • In calm conditions, you may leave the boat at the floating dock for two to three hours.
  • All boats must still always be safely moored in the marina if you take longer breaks or leave the boat overnight.
  • Clean the boat thoroughly inside and out before returning it.
  • Make sure the fuel tank is full.
  • We carry out an inspection before the deposit is refunded.

Tips for easy cleaning

  • Bring a bucket and a rope so you can rinse the boat along the way.
  • Freshwater hoses are available at both the floating dock and in the marina.
  • If you use the pressure washer, please return it to the fuel room after use.

After fishing and filleting

  • Clean the filleting room after use – a pressure washer is available in the fuel room.
  • Dispose of fish remains at least 200 metres from shore.

Register your catch

Registering your catch helps protect marine life and secure sustainable fish stocks. It’s quick, easy – and required by law.
