Essential information before you head out on the Trondheimfjord
Here you will find rules and practical information for boat rental at Hindrum Fjordsenter. Please read this before heading out on the fjord – it supports a safe and well-managed trip on the Trondheimfjord. Guest information and practical details
Life jacket and sea chart
- A life jacket and sea chart with GPS points are provided with the rental.
- Bring your mobile phone and save our contact number.
- Take a photo of the propeller before departure.
Fuel
- Guests refuel the boat themselves.
- Use 98 octane fuel only.
- Contact reception between 09:00–17:00 to purchase fuel.
- Enter your name and cabin number in the fuel room so consumption can be registered and settled before departure.
Mooring
- The boat may remain at the floating dock at Hindrum Fjordsenter during short breaks (1–2 hours) in calm weather.
- During longer stays, overnight, or in wind and waves, the boat must be properly moored at its designated berth at the floating dock in the marina.
Boat return
- Clean the boat thoroughly before returning it.
- Return the boat with a full fuel tank.
- An inspection is carried out before the deposit is refunded.
Catch registration
Catch registration is mandatory for foreign guests and helps protect fish stocks in Norway.

Filleting and waste
- Clean the filleting room thoroughly after use.
- Rinse tables, floor and equipment.
- Fish remains must be disposed of at least 200 meters offshore.
- It is not permitted to discard fish waste in the harbour or near land.
Safety at sea
- Show good seamanship and respect others on the fjord.
- Check the weather forecast and sea conditions before departure.
- Alcohol and boating do not belong together.
- Keep a safe distance from fish farms and commercial traffic.
- Wear a life jacket – always.
- Take care of nature. Leave no trace.
