Borgen is an 8 km round trip in the area between Hindrum, Hindrem and Seter. The hike can be started from Hindrum Fjordsenter or from Revelltun , depending on which part of the area you want to use as your starting point.
The route passes through forest, farmland and quiet sections with views toward Hindrem, Seter and the Trondheim Fjord. This is a longer hike than the Fairytale Trail and Spranget, but still an accessible day hike for guests who want more time outdoors and a clearer sense of the landscape around Hindrum in Norway.

Borgen as a hiking destination
The destination of the hike is Borgen , a ridge that local tradition connects to an ancient hill fort from the Migration Period. From here you get views over the fjord, farms and forested areas that have been used by people for a long time.
In the area around Borgen, Hindrem and Seter there are several traces of old paths, farming activity and local history. The hike is best experienced at a relaxed pace, with time for both the views, the terrain and the small transitions between forest, farmland and fjord landscape near Trondheim.
