Rental terms for holiday homes, boats and additional services

1.1 General provisions

1.1.1. These terms and conditions govern the rights and obligations of the renter and Hindrum Fjordsenter when entering into an agreement for the rental of a holiday home, boat and/or additional services.

1.1.2. Information provided on hindrumfjordsenter.no forms part of the contractual relationship. In the event of a conflict, the officially published rental terms take precedence over marketing material or oral communication.

1.1.3. The agreement becomes binding when the renter receives written confirmation from Hindrum Fjordsenter.

1.1.4. If there is any doubt regarding the interpretation of these terms, the officially published rental terms take precedence.

1.2 Payment

1.2.1. For direct bookings, an advance payment may be required. The advance amount and payment deadline are stated in the booking confirmation or invoice. Any remaining balance is normally due 30 days before arrival, unless otherwise agreed in writing or stated in the booking confirmation.

1.2.2. For bookings made 29 days or fewer before arrival, full payment is normally required at the time of booking.

1.2.3. Card payment at reception on arrival is also possible.

1.2.4. Bookings made through external platforms are paid in accordance with the payment terms of the relevant platform.

1.2.5. Hindrum Fjordsenter complies with applicable rules governing payment fees.

1.2.6. Hindrum Fjordsenter reserves the right to adjust prices following changes in taxes, duties, exchange rates or transport costs. A price adjustment may only be made when the change is outside Hindrum Fjordsenter’s control and could not have been foreseen when the agreement was entered into.

1.2.7. The rental price covers a stay for up to 2 people per accommodation unit unless otherwise stated. Additional charges may apply for more people. The applicable amount is provided when booking.

1.2.8. If payment is not received within the stated deadlines, Hindrum Fjordsenter may terminate the agreement after prior notice, in accordance with the applicable terms.

1.3 Changes

1.3.1. Changes to the booking may be made up to 56 days before arrival, subject to availability. The change must concern the same destination and the same calendar year. The rental amount may not be reduced. The change fee is NOK 500.

1.4 Cancellation

1.4.1. Cancellation must be made in writing.

1.4.2. The following cancellation charges apply:

1.4.3. If there are questions concerning cancellation or the interpretation of the cancellation terms, the officially published terms apply.

1.4.4. The renter is responsible for obtaining suitable travel insurance and/or cancellation insurance.

1.5 Insurance and renter responsibilities

1.5.1. The renter is financially responsible for damage caused by the renter or accompanying guests.

1.5.2. The renter is responsible for complying with boating-licence requirements, fishing regulations and Norwegian maritime rules.

1.5.3. The renter is responsible for complying with passport, visa and entry requirements.

1.5.4. Operational house rules and practical rules for the stay are set out in the current guest information provided by Hindrum Fjordsenter.

1.6 Boat deposit

1.6.1. A deposit is required for each boat rental.

1.6.2. The deposit is refunded after inspection.

1.6.3. Deductions may be made for damage, missing equipment or inadequate cleaning.

1.7 Arrival and departure

1.7.1. Arrival is from 16:00 and departure is before 10:00 unless otherwise stated.

1.7.2. Arrival between 23:00 and 07:00 must be agreed in advance.

1.8 Defects and complaints

1.8.1. Any defects must be reported as soon as possible and no later than 48 hours after arrival, so that Hindrum Fjordsenter has a reasonable opportunity to inspect and, where appropriate, remedy the matter during the stay.

1.8.2. A written complaint should be submitted within 30 days after the end of the stay.

1.8.3. Receipt of a written complaint is normally acknowledged within 3 working days. Hindrum Fjordsenter aims to provide a substantive response within 14 days.

1.8.4. Minor discrepancies or natural conditions are not considered defects.

1.8.5. The renter must take reasonable steps to limit damage and loss, and Hindrum Fjordsenter must be given a reasonable period to inspect and, where appropriate, remedy the matter.

1.8.6. Hindrum Fjordsenter’s liability is limited to direct financial loss. Indirect loss or consequential damage is not compensated. This limitation does not apply in cases of gross negligence or wilful misconduct.

1.9 Force majeure

1.9.1. In the event of force majeure, including war, natural disaster, epidemic, border closure, strike or other extraordinary events, the agreement may be cancelled without liability.

1.9.2. In the event of force majeure, each party bears its own costs unless mandatory law provides otherwise.

1.10 Privacy

1.10.1. Hindrum Fjordsenter complies with applicable data-protection legislation, including the GDPR.

1.11 Disputes and other provisions

1.11.1. Norwegian law applies.

1.11.2. The legal venue is Trøndelag District Court unless mandatory law provides otherwise.

1.11.3. Any dispute should first be resolved amicably.
