What You Need to Know Before Booking

On this page, you’ll find the rental terms that apply when booking holiday homes, boats, or additional services at Hindrum Fjordsenter. We want your stay to be safe and well organised – which means it’s important that both you and we understand what applies.

The terms are designed to protect both parties and help ensure your stay is smooth and predictable. If you have questions before or after booking, you’re always welcome to contact us.

1. General

1.1. These rental terms govern the rights and obligations between the tenant and Hindrum Fjordsenter when entering into an agreement for the rental of holiday homes, boats and/or additional services.

1.2. Information provided on the website hindrumfjordsenter.no forms part of the agreement. In the event of any conflict, the officially published rental terms shall prevail over marketing materials or oral communication.

1.3. The agreement becomes binding at the moment the tenant receives written confirmation from Hindrum Fjordsenter.

1.4. In case of doubt regarding the interpretation of these terms, the officially published rental terms shall prevail.

2. Payment

2.1. For direct bookings, a deposit corresponding to 25% of the total price must be paid within 14 days after booking confirmation. The remaining balance (75%) is due 30 days prior to arrival.

2.2. For bookings made 29 days or fewer before arrival, full payment is normally required at the time of booking.

2.3. Payment by card at reception upon arrival is also possible.

2.4. Bookings made via external platforms are paid in accordance with the payment terms of the relevant platform.

2.5. Hindrum Fjordsenter complies with applicable regulations concerning payment surcharges.

2.6. Hindrum Fjordsenter reserves the right to adjust prices in the event of changes in taxes, duties, currency exchange rates or transport costs. Price adjustments may only occur if such changes are beyond Hindrum Fjordsenter’s control and could not reasonably have been foreseen at the time the agreement was concluded.

2.7. The rental price applies to up to two persons per unit unless otherwise stated. Additional charges may apply for extra guests. Applicable rates are specified at the time of booking.

2.8. Failure to pay within the specified deadlines may result in termination of the agreement following prior notice, in accordance with these terms.

3. Changes

3.1. Changes to the booking may be made up to 56 days before arrival, subject to availability. The change must apply to the same destination and the same calendar year. The total rental amount cannot be reduced. A change fee of NOK 500 applies.

4. Cancellation

4.1. Cancellations must be made in writing.

4.2. The following cancellation fees apply:
4.2.1. 50 days or more before arrival: 25%.
4.2.2. 49–35 days before arrival: 30%.
4.2.3. 34–20 days before arrival: 50%.
4.2.4. 19–8 days before arrival: 90%.
4.2.5. 7 days or fewer before arrival: 100%.

4.3. In case of questions regarding cancellation or interpretation of the cancellation terms, the officially published rental terms shall prevail.

4.4. The tenant is responsible for arranging appropriate travel and/or cancellation insurance.

5. Insurance and Tenant Responsibilities

5.1. The tenant is financially liable for any damage caused by the tenant or accompanying persons.

5.2. The tenant is responsible for complying with requirements relating to boating licences, fishing regulations and Norwegian maritime law.

5.3. The tenant is responsible for complying with passport, visa and entry requirements.

6. Boat Deposit

6.1. A deposit is required for each boat rental.

6.2. The deposit is refunded after inspection.

6.3. Deductions may be made for damage, missing equipment or insufficient cleaning.

7. Arrival and Departure

7.1. Check-in is from 16:00 and check-out is before 10:00, unless otherwise agreed.

7.2. Arrival between 23:00 and 07:00 must be agreed in advance.

8. Defects and Complaints

8.1. Any defects must be reported as soon as possible and no later than 48 hours after arrival, allowing Hindrum Fjordsenter a reasonable opportunity to investigate and, if necessary, remedy the issue during the stay.

8.2. Written complaints should be submitted within 30 days after departure.

8.3. Receipt of a written complaint is normally confirmed within three working days. Hindrum Fjordsenter aims to provide a substantive response within 14 days.

8.4. Minor deviations or natural conditions shall not be considered defects.

8.5. The tenant has a duty to limit damage and loss. Hindrum Fjordsenter must be given a reasonable period to investigate and remedy the issue.

8.6. Hindrum Fjordsenter’s liability is limited to direct financial loss. Indirect or consequential damages are excluded. This limitation does not apply in cases of gross negligence or wilful misconduct.

9. Force Majeure

9.1. In the event of force majeure, including war, natural disasters, epidemics, border closures, strikes or other extraordinary events, the agreement may be cancelled without liability.

9.2. In cases of force majeure, each party bears its own costs unless otherwise required by mandatory law.

10. Privacy

10.1. Hindrum Fjordsenter complies with applicable data protection legislation (GDPR).

11. Disputes and Other Provisions

11.1. Norwegian law applies.

11.2. Venue is Trøndelag District Court unless otherwise required by mandatory law.

11.3. Any disputes shall be sought resolved amicably.

11.4. Errors and omissions excepted.
